Everyone at Q Hair and Beauty was celebrating in high spirits following the announcement the salon, based in the charming city of Chichester, won the Going Green Award at the Observer Business Awards 2013.
The salon, which already has a long and impressive list of awards to its name, created a year-long manageable strategy, making positive changes to target its carbon footprint. These included everything from simple changes to more complex decisions about sustainable, cost-efficient methods of operating.
Salon owner Anthony Barnes-Smith, who last year was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement in the same annual awards, said: “It’s always amazing to be recognised for our continual efforts to evolve as a business and I know the team are overjoyed.
“We’re also very proud that our theme of being kinder to the environment has brought about exciting changes we’ll certainly continue to apply.”
The Q Hair and Beauty team attended the black-tie event on Friday, April 19 at the Hilton Avisford Park in Arundel, compered by local TV celebrity Fred Dineage.
